The Wedding Day

The perfect wedding should not only be costly and beautiful… it should be a personal affair. Carefully select details that mean something to yourself and your fiancé. Here are a few ways to add your own subtle touches to the ceremony and reception.

  • Write your own wedding vows. It needn’t be poetry, as long as it comes from the heart.
  • Compile a CD with songs that symbolize your relationship. You might want to burn a few extra copies and hand them to other special couples at your wedding who shared some of those special times with you.
  • Don’t like the idea of tossing your bouquet? Rather have an additional bouquet made and present them to your mom and your “new” mom.
  • Many times, guests await the arrival of the bridal couple at the reception. Place a basket containing pretty paper and pens. The guests can write their wishes / advice to you and place them in the basket.
  • Instead of a normal speech from the bridal couple at the wedding, create a video or slideshow containing images for your friends and family. This can be screened while you do your speech, or the speech can be pre-recorded.
  • Sadly, friends or relatives pass away close to a couples wedding date. If this is the case, you might want to light a tribute candle during the ceremony.
  • For your dance with your father, create another set of slides / video that can be played to your favourite song while the last dance takes place.
