Honeymoon Bliss

honeymoonAfter the stress of planning the wedding finally now you can relax and enjoy being married. The honeymoon is a time of glamour, relaxation and getting to spend some intimate time with your spouse. When most people think of the honeymoon they get this funny spaced out look on their face and a small smile that plays on their lips, but imagine how it would be if you return from your honeymoon and it was a disaster. You would be under even more stress than before you left and it would be a bad start to the rest of your lives together. Make sure that your honeymoon is unforgettable and return even more in love with your man by discussing the following with him beforehand.

Honeymoon destination
Traditionally the husband keeps the destination of the honeymoon a secret, but it’s up to you whether or not you want to be kept in the dark. Communicate with your man what your ideas and expectations of the ideal getaway are. For example, do you thrive in hot or cold climates, are there things you want to avoid for instance having to take malaria pills. Not discussing these issues may turn your honeymoon into a disaster, and spoil this special occasion for both of you.

Travel plans
Encourage your fiancé to look out for the best holiday packages available. Don’t be fooled by beautiful photos in brochures. Check and double check. Nothing is worse than arriving at your destination only to find out that it is nothing like you expected. Here are a few popular honeymoon destinations:

  • Mauritius: There are interesting places to see and great activities in Mauritius. Activities like deep sea diving, surfing, quad bike hiring to explore the island. Mauritius is a winning destination throughout the whole year with a pleasurable climate. The hottest months are during November till March, while the coldest months are from July to September.
  • The Maldives: Interesting things to do in the Maldives include water-ski, diving etc. The Maldives has a hot tropical climate and the rain season stretches from May to October in the Southwest and from November to April in the Northeast.
  • The Seychelles: Activities to consider include, diving, surfing, windsailing. From May to September are the colder months.
  • Egypt: There are so many things to do and see in Egypt that it would need to be planned ahead of time. The temperature is dry and sunny throughout the whole year with very little rain.

More popular destinations include Kenya, Mozambique, Zanzibar, Zambia, Italy, Western Cape, and KZN

When to leave
Traveling on the day of your wedding is not a good idea. Both of you will be tired so rather book into a luxurious hotel and rest first. Don’t worry too much if you are too tired to have a traditional first wedding night. Rather have a nice romantic bath together and get good nights sleep and wake up feeling refreshed.

What to do
When you finally arrive at your dream destination you will feel rested and revitalized. Now begins the time for the two of you. There is enough time for romance and fun, so if now and then he wants to wander of on his own, let him go while you spoil yourself at the spa. You do not have to be together all of the time. Relax and let go.

Plan some special activities
Plan some adventurous activities like water skiing or bunging jump. Have fun.

Have a wonderful honeymoon and enjoy the rest of your lives together.
